A Time for Prayer & Reflection - every Thursday, 5-6 p.m., Room 208. The Power of Prayer - God encourages and strengthens His people through prayer. Our heavenly father loves you and desires for you to be in conversation with him ... He wants you to develop and maintain a personal relationship and dialogue with him. Often times the busyness of our lives keeps us from this special connectedness with our God. So, we have set aside a weekly time for prayer & reflection on Thursday's from 5-6 p.m. in Room 208. Anyone is welcome to come to pray and lay individual joys & concerns before the Lord. Let's pray together - to seek the Lord in new ways - and watch God transform our lives, the church, our community, and the world. If you have questions please talk with Cindy Mannucci and Dawn Mosteller.

NEED A ROOM AT THE CHURCH? - If you are planning a meeting or event at the church, please make sure the space you need is available before you get too far into the planning process. You can schedule the room(s) by contacting Elizabeth Smith, Office Administrator at 703-451-2375 or info@springfieldvaumc.org.
Do not assume your group is on the calendar. Many groups utilize our building, so you must call Elizabeth to be sure your group has the place you will need. Also, please call Elizabeth to arrange for your group to have information or sign-up sheets on the clipboard table.

ECHO NEWS From March 1 through April 30, all food and financial gifts to ECHO that are designated as a response to The Feinstein Challenge will be matched (proportionally) by the Feinstein Foundation. Now is a great time to consider a donation to ECHO. Don't forget to mark checks "Feinstein Challenge" on the memo line. Checks, made out to ECHO, should be mailed or brought to 7205 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA 22150. Food donors should inform the door volunteers that their donation is in response to the Feinstein Challenge. Volunteer opportunities at ECHO include the need for an adult interested in supervising a small group of teen volunteers on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00. All work is done at the ECHO building and information on specific tasks for the teens is provided to the adult supervisor. If you enjoy working with this age group and would be able to commit every Wednesday evening (or every other Wednesday, in case we have more than one volunteer) during the school year, please e-mail us at the address shown below. Another opportunity is for a job ECHO calls "Office Angels" because ECHO's family counselors feel blessed to have their help. The duties include answering phones, packing food bags, making client appointments, and assorted clerical tasks. A weekly commitment is desirable, but not required. Dates and times of particular need are: Wednesday or Friday mornings (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) or Thursday evenings (7:00 to 9:00). If you want to explore this opportunity further, send an e-mail to echoadmin@verizon.net. Items that ECHO is low on this month include: jelly, pancake mix, pancake syrup, canned pasta, powdered milk, 2 lb. bags of sugar, all over-the-counter medications, and all kinds of personal hygiene items.
